Jacee Badeaux

Will be on tv this Thursday, for those of you that love him as much as I do :) :) :)  And here's a link to an interview http://www.katc.com/player/?video_id=6317

Many American Idol fans were outraged last Thursday to learn that Jacee Badeaux and Colton Dixon would not be included in this year’s Top 24.  However, fans WILL have a chance to see their favorites on TV this upcoming week.  Jacee and Colton will both appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this coming Thursday. They’ll talk about their eliminations and of course perform!

Email from God.....

Holy Email

One day God was looking down at Earth and saw all of the rascally behavior that was going on. So he called one of His angels and sent the angel to Earth for a time.

When he returned, he told God, 'Yes, it is bad on Earth; 95% are misbehaving and only 5% are not.

God thought for a moment and said, 'Maybe I had better send down a second angel to get another opinion..'

So God called another angel and sent him to Earth for a time.

When the angel returned he went to God and said, 'Yes, it's true. The Earth is in decline; 95% are misbehaving, but 5% are being good.'

God was not pleased. So He decided to e-mail the 5% that were good, because he wanted to encourage them, and give them a little something to help them keep going..

Do you know what the e-mail said?

Jacee Badeaux, on American Idol .. again, I know.... But I love him :)

Ooh, I'm crossing my fingers that he makes it through tomorrow night!!!!!!!!!  I just love this kid.

He sings with his church in Louisiana, plays the piano and gets really good grades... and loves his family....man, what more could ya ask for!?!

But this picture of him just wrings my heart out like a wet sponge.
He has such an awesome personality. I love his positive attitude and he has such dignity and class for anyone let alone a 15 yr old...

Plus....he sings beautifully, of course :) :) :)

Keep your fingers crossed for him.... I sure am!  But either way, he is a winner.  His parents raised him right.

Go Jacee!

These are some really good books!

My favorite time of day is at night when the kids are in bed(for the most part) and we're all winding down and I have a good book.  It's my little slice of Heaven :)

If you like Historical Christian Fiction.....you should read these :)

These 4 take place on a ranch in Colorado in the early 1900's.....really good stories about love and loss and redemption....

These all take place in the Scottish Highlands....in the 1500's....really good series!!!

have you ever seen this movie?

I saw it years ago and have always remembered it because it was so touching.  Then I ordered it on Netflix and watched it again today.....

It's a tear jerker.....and oh so good.  Della Reese is amazing.

Synopsis: . Under the thumb of her abusive grandfather, a neglected young girl must escape the confines of her unhappy home. Jo Ann Foley (Madeline Zima) finds comfort and support in an unlikely source: an elderly African-American couple (Della Reese and Ossie Davis). The three form a bond that defies racial boundaries and helps mend the girl's broken spirit. Crystal Bernard appears as Jo Ann's mother in this heartwarming film directed by Bruce Pittman.

Rated: Unrated

Running Time: 1 hr. 38 min.

Fatherless Friday

Look at this smile.    Look at those eyes.  Don't you just want to scoop him up and love him??  I always feel especially bad for the 'older' orphans, and this sweet boy is 8 yrs old and cognitively on track and REALLY needs a family and medical treatment for his brain tumor.  He REALLY needs to be here in the USA for that treatment.   Oh, how I pray he finds that family and SOON.  Will you pray for Sasha too?  Is your heart telling you he's your son?

From  Reeces Rainbow .....

Eyes: Brown

Hair: blond

Character: active, sociable From a missionary who visited with him: “This is Alexander, and they call him Sasha. His birthday is April 2002. I would say his personality seemed happy, cheerful and sociable from the little contact I had with him. I did send an email to my friends that worked with his group to get their opinion since they spent several hours with him for a week. I know he has a brain tumor that is supposedly treatable U.S, but the treatment is expected to be lengthy. He has been treated some in Russia and was in the hospital in the spring for more treatment. He’s a very lovable kid and very smart. He remembers people and things that they say and he is very in tune with how sick he is. He understands and comprehends a lot for his age. He loves to dance and get one on one attention (what kid doesn’t?) He’s sensitive and his feelings get hurt easily. Sasha is concerned about others. He always asks how you or someone in the group is doing. He is very outgoing, not shy at all. He loves to sing songs and recite poems for you, and he knows so many! Sasha loves individual attention. You are special to him and he wants to feel that he is special to you also. Simply put, he is a loving little boy who is such a pleasure to spend time with. One more thing: I have lots of pictures of Sasha and some videos of him singing and reciting poems. It would be SO WONDERFUL if he could get adopted and get proper treatment in the USA.

This about broke my heart tonight on American Idol...

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this boy.  What an amazing young man he is.  If you watched it tonight, you know how well he handled himself...and normally I don't really get involved in tv shows too much...but OH MY GOODNESS....I just LOVE Jacee.
He reminds me of my Michael in a few years....and makes me feel fiercely protective of him.  I'd love to have him for a son :)

There's a mouse WHERE???

There's a mouse in our Denali.  Actually, there's probably a whole colony of them by the looks of the 'evidence' they leave behind.
It's been a problem for about a month now.  It started with an apple left in the vehicle that was half eaten and about a million droppings left behind.  Droppings on the rim of pop cans left in there...droppings EVERYWHERE.   How gross is that!  When we start the heater on, bits of cat food blow out the vents.  GROSS.  I'm just waiting for a mouse to jump out on me too.
Shane swears he smells them when we turn the fan on....and I kind of do too...like 'hot mouse'.  yuck.  I tend to leave my purse in the vehicle and the last straw was when I dug around in my purse for a mint and found instead a bunch of MOUSE TURDS in my purse!  My mints were open and I swear it looked 'licked' ...I think the mouse licked my mints!!!!

This is my life.....

Rich said atleast there is a mouse around that has really good breath ;)

And for the record, I threw away most of the contents of my purse and put it in the washing machine....I was so grossed out.

Rich has been leaving the Denali outside overnight trying to 'freeze' the little vermin out.  Does that sound as ridiculous to you as it does to me???????

And it's not working...surprise surprise.  (rolling my eyes)

Fatherless Friday

This is one of my favorite little boys...I just love him.   I just know he would be such a wonderful addition to any family...I mean, look at him!  Can't you just see the love and potential in there??  I can.  And he looks so sad :(

And needy.

But imagine what he would look like with a big happy smile on his adorable face....and he has a sweet soul about him.  He's tender and gentle.  He cries in his sleep some nights, could it be that he's crying out to be someones son?  Someones special little boy?

 Somewhere to belong?

Makes me sad to think about it.

Could he be YOUR son??

jifh-25C

Nicholas

Brothers and sisters do not

Date of Birth: August 2005

Gender: Male

Eyes: Blue

Hair: light brown

Nature: Quiet boy, loves to play with adults. She loves listening to music, trying to repeat the dance moves for adults. He has a selective attitude towards others. In a gesture of farewell. His appetite is good, he eats with a spoon and drinking from a cup, but not accurately. Sleep restless, sometimes cries in his sleep.

Nicholas has a wonderful soul about him! He needs a family quickly, he should be in a kindergarten class making friends, not stuck in an orphanage or institution.

$1650 is available towards the cost of my adoption!

a little of this and a little of that....

Toma just went in the bathroom and brought out his potty chair, took his pants off (diaper too) and went potty in the potty chair ALL BY HIMSELF!

For Toma, this is HUGE!

Sometimes I think he just doesn't 'get' most things on a daily basis...but then he'll do something like that and it just blows me away and gets me thinkin.....'he's in there somewhere...and he GETS it'!!!

Tomorrow we have an appointment down in the cities with a pediatric dentist that will do his dental work during the cleft palate surgery.  AND we're going to the eye doctor to hopefully get his glasses ordered.

Busy day.

And I didn't feel good at all today, and I'm crossing my fingers it doesn't get worse before tomorrow. So far, it's been through everyone in the family but me ( the flu thing) I've had a sinus thingy for a long time now.

**********But the best news of the day is that sweet Alexander has a family committed to bringing him home!!!*******

oh, and the really crappy thing that happened to day is that one of our 'lovely' (grrrr) neighbors called the city and complained that our dog barks too much so we got the NASTY letter from the city!

How rotten.  It's freezing here, we're all stuck in our houses...(so it's not like they're outside listening to him bark)he's not out all that often and I call him in when he barks at the squirrels....  stuff like that just sticks in my craw. And I gave everyone of these neighbors 'welcome to the neighborhood' gifts when they moved in.  Hmp.

Well, American Idol is about to start....gotta go.

Yes.  I said ALL WINTER.

I think we've been sick off and on, but mostly ON since November.  It just never ends and goes from one to another to another ......

On top of colds for nearly all of us, 3 now have the flu.  The laundry is a mountain.  Blah.......

I could seriously use a vacation.  F L O R I D A  !

now, wouldn't that be nice.

I do have some funny pictures of my dad I have to get on here soon....that always seems to cheer things up a bit ;)

Fatherless Friday

This is Alexander.  He's SUCH a sweet boy.  My friend Gretchen has met him and just fell in love with him.  Sadly, Alexander has since been transferred out of his orphanage and into an institution.  Look at that smile on his face, and then imagine how he felt when he arrived at the institution....and realized that he wasn't going back 'home' to the only people that were familiar to him.  I can't imagine what that must feel like for these children.  He's only a little boy!  So small and at the mercy of everyone around him.

But it's NOT too late for him.  He CAN still have a family, a life outside of an institution ...where he will be valued and treasured...where he can be someones beloved son.

He does have a grant of over $7,000 to help with the cost of his adoption.

Please take a minute to go to my Friend Gretchen's blog and watch the video she took of him last July.  It truly shows his sweet and gentle spirit.
