Time to come out of the cave??

I always said I'd never do Facebook.

I didn't even want to do a blog.

I don't have TIME for Facebook...ok, I don't really know what it is to be EXACT...but it looks complicated.

Lots of stuff on there.

Feeling obligated to respond to people (right??) and having to post pictures and KEEP UP...(right??)

I don't know.

Lately, I've been thinking that there are 'things' going on out there in Facebook world that I'm missing out on.

I mean, doesn't EVERYONE have one these days??

I'm out of the loop

Sometimes I like it that way.

But sometimes I don't :) :)

So, I'm thinking about it.

What do YOU think???

  1. I'm not on Facebook. I could just give you my phone number and you could call me for a daily chat instead of wasting your time on a social network site. I'm all the social networking you need. tee hee hee

  2. I got Facebook. It baffles me....my settings have me getting everyone else's comments and thoughts. I find it overwhelming. Feels a little nosey...and time consuming. Blogging, email and phone calls work just fine for me. Stay in your cave (or hollow as Kristin might say.)

  3. I just joined fb over the summer..I am a basic user...only real simple stuff. I still blog and email. One thing I love about it though is I have connected with people that I had lost contact with over the years. Even our one of our adopted daughters uncle whom we knew before but had not heard from in years was able to connect with us thru fb. I have incorrectly posted on the wall when I wanted it to go to just a private comment :) but I am learning.

  4. Facebook is only as complicated as YOU make it. For Gretchen who is getting everyone else's comments, that's because she's going to the wrong page. She needs to go to the top tab and click on "profile" instead to go to her OWN page. It takes a little bit of playing around to figure out, but once you do it can be a lot of fun. I will tell you this: DO NOT CLICK ON THE GAMES!! EVER!!!!! They are designed by clever people to be HIGHLY addictive! I have known people who NEVER play games to become completely hooked on them. Just don't play them, that's all. "just say no to games".

  5. Good point Leah.. how do you erase everyone elses game updates from your own fb? I could care less that such and such " got them a dang snake" or whatever they won.

  6. On the right side of their post, move your cursor until the word "Hide" appears. Click on "Hide" and a new window will appear. Click again on "Hide ???" (Farmville, etc) or whatever game you would like to hide.

  7. I LOVE Facebook, and spend a lot of time on it, I admit. But I have connected with old classmates and friends and even a cousin who wasn't speaking to most of the family. But I agree - avoid the games - I have no time for them! FB alone takes up a lot of my time!
