Ever hear of this stuff?

Colloidal Silver.
I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.  So, I got myself a bottle of this stuff.
It's supposed to be really good for you and if you're not feeling good , like with a cold or aches and pains, it's really supposed to knock it out.  But....I also don't wanna end up looking like THIS guy!  Ha.
And by the way....I HATE (and I don't say hate very often) but I hate this show.  It totally weirded me out as a kid and I still can't stand to even think about it.  Gives me the willies.

Speaking of the willies, so does Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  HATE IT!

I mean, what kind of mind THINKS UP STUFF LIKE THAT!???!!?

Its that time of year

Winter.

Yeah, it's that time of year again.

If you're like me, there is nothing to do for months and months.  Because I don't like winter and freezing cold.

But one of the things the kids love and really look forward to is putting our ginormous santa in our huge window.

When we bought this house I knew I would have fun with that window.  Then my mom got this 9 foot santa for Christmas years ago...and I knew we had the perfect spot for him :)

We are putting him up soon, and I'll post a picture to show ya :)

We actually get lots of cars drive up at night to look at him....the kids love that!

And I'm sure our awesome (cough) neighbors love our huge lit up santa looming over them for over a month ;)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving :)

We loved having Toma with us this year.  He was such a happy, silly boy today.  Totally hopped up on sugar and enjoying all the attention :)

I have a picture of 'Aunt Patti' holding him.....but......she doesn't want me to post it.  So, unless there is overwhelming response to post it and she agrees....you'll just have to *imagine* what my dear Aunt Patti looks like ;)   She's shy.  ha ha.

It's freezing here in MN!  I think the wind chill is below 0 for sure.  It's not pleasant....unless you're a penguin.

How was YOUR day?

I'm *thinking* about starting a new blog, yes, ANOTHER one

***************UPDATE************
I I have revised the blog to reflect the whole family, instead of just our Artoma, who has already been found :)

Maybe that would be a place to talk about the goofy things that happen around here....and where kristin and I could still bug each other...ya know, just a simple, funny blog. What do you think??

Redesigned blog...a work in progress ;)

I'm workin on it....but it's not so easy when you don't really know what your doing!

By tomorrow (or next week) I should have it just the way I want it.

Dasvidanya folks.....It's time to move on :)

****************UPDATE**************
I've revised the blog to reflect the whole family, not just our sweet Artoma, who has already been found :)

Well, this has been a long time coming.

I never really wanted a blog in the first place, but did so for the adoption.

But now that he's been home for 7 months I think it's time to move on :)

Frankly, I've run out of things to say!

so.....I think I'll switch this over to a simple blog that advocates for the orphans...a cause that I hold dear.

(when I figure out how to DO that) :) :)

I had fun with this blog though, thanks everyone!

I have revised the blog to reflect the whole family, not just our sweet Artoma, who has already been found!

If I could go back tomorrow...

I would choose one of these girls. Well, I'd love to choose them both but they're in different regions.

The top one is Kate. She's an older girl who so badly wants a mom. She knows what a mother is and asked a visiting mom if she was her mama, as she hugged her legs and looked up at her with those beautiful brown eyes. Then there's Charity. My, this little girl is sweet. She reminds me of Lisette, who now has a family coming for her :) I want her so bad. She's just so tiny and needy.

We're hoping to get our home study updated soon, but realistically it will probably be after February. Times are tough and adoption is expensive. (but so worth it)

Please say a prayer for us, that God leads us to the child He wants us to bring home.
And then helps us do it! :)

on another note....Toma is doing great! He's such a funny little thing. Always happy and smiling.
And he EATS regular food some of the time now!! But the best news is that he DRINKS now too!
For months and months he wouldn't even think about drinking. Never. But boy, are we making progress around here. Now he brings me a cup when he's thirsty.

His favorite thing is still voda. (water) He just can't get enough of it. He can't even think straight if there's water running. Totally obsessed.

He does like me a bit more now (I think)....but still gets super happy when Papa gets home from work :) He's a papa's boy.

looking for twins?

These two little sweeties are in the same orphanage and can be adopted together :) This is Anna, what a pretty little girl, and so in need of a mommy.
And this is Trenton, (not his real name) he's healthy, and Anna is too, except a minor heart murmur.
Can you imagine the joy these two would bring to a family? I can!
by the way, Miss Anna has a grant of over $700.00

Kristin at the state fair.....

Remember this picture? She posted it several weeks ago, saying I was the ugly llama trying to get in the picture, and of course she was the pretty little llama in the front. Hmp. Well, here's what I have to say about that. But first, you MUST read this with Donkey's voice, from Shrek.

So, back to this picture. This is ugly llama (me) sayin...."hey man, look at me, look at me...I'm right here and I'm pretty too....see, look at my teeth, aren't they pretty? And they're all right next to each other too........Don't look at her.....she's over-rated..the pretty ones are a dime a dozen".

Sure, she wants you to think she's all that.....but I saw her from the back, I know what she's all about.....

And THIS ain't pretty ,I tell ya.

See what I mean, see??? Even the other llama's don't like looking at it. Oh man.

Trying to be all cool, when we really know what you're all about.....straw stickin on your behind and everything!

Now ME, I ain't no pampered princess......this is the way I got to the fair. I'm built for heavy labor, not some sissy llama.

So, there Miss Priss. This is what I think about you. hee, hee, he.

This just breaks my heart...

Looking at sweet Catherine and her sad, sad face breaks my heart.
It makes me wonder what her day was like the day this was taken. Was she treated poorly? Did she not feel well? Was she longing for a mama to come for her?
I don't know, and I'll never know. But I sure think about it a lot. I know she got dressed up for this picture from the rotating closet because I've seen it on others.
I know that toy got put in her hands and her hair all done up in hopes it would make her look happier, prettier, more....enticing.
The whole thing just puts a lump in my throat.
She's such a treasure. With or without the dress and toy and fancy hair.
Look in her eyes, FEEL her sad existence. Really FEEL it.
It will break your heart, too.
She is waiting. Everyday, she's waiting. Won't you please save her?

look at these eyes

you would swear they were sisters. They are not. The top one and the bottom are the same child, the middle is not related.

They both need a family. Such little beauties :)

2 more of my favorite boys....

This is Michael, he is 2 yrs old and so handsome. He's only has oval window which could have closed on it's own by now, other than that, he's very healthy! Hardly anyone has ever inquired about him. When I asked about him, I was the only one who ever had! How sad is that? and the next cutie is Igor. He is 3 yrs old and a darling too. He has the same heart condition as Michael does, just an oval window. Maybe it has closed by now too.
Igor has a good sized grant. They are both in Eastern Europe, same country as Artiom.
Won't you consider rescuing one of these children.....they are SO worth it.

funny...sort of.

My dad is 77.

Now, I know some people at 77 are still sharp as nails, like Regis.
Regis must have taken more Ginko Biloba than my dad though.

Because his mind/memory is escaping him more and more all the time.

He and my mom come over for breakfast every morning.

It's Groundhog day (the movie)here everyday.

He says the same things....does the same things....but most annoying(but funny) is how he's like one of the kids.

And they fight.

Everyday milk gets spilled, now that's not anything unusual with kids, but it's my dad fighting with the kids that gets the milk spilled.

Who gets to sit where....who gets this bowl.....who gets to put more honey on their eggs.

Ahhh, it's interesting all right.

Halloween was especially funny.

Dad wanted Halloween candy. He was mad that mom had to give out his stash of caramels at their house because they ran out of regular candy....

So the next morning at my house, he wants to go through the kids pails of candy.

That didn't go over well with certain little people here.

For some reason, he and Michael seem to go at it the worst. Probably because it's like some kind of sibling rivalry...they both act like 8 yr olds.

I let dad pick out whatever candy he wanted and Michael put up a fit and started crying and pouting. Dad was shoving it in his mouth as quick as he could, afraid he'd lose it if he didn't :) :)

After breakfast when they were leaving, dad slowly shuffled his way to the door, holding his pumpkin full of candy, looking back at Michael the whole time.

Michael just glared at him, saying "there goes my CANDY out the door". (I have to say, it was hilarious)

It's odd how life comes full circle.

But I guess you just have to find the humor in it, right? what's the alternative?

Why is he still waiting???????????

I don't get it.
This is Danil, he is 3 yrs old and living in an orphanage in Eastern Europe. What I don't get is why he's still there....

He's VERY,VERY high functioning, he knows his letters, numbers, shapes, etc. (I might add that my 3 yr old w/o Ds is still learning these things)
He's very social, smart and sweet. He most likely has Mosiac Down Syndrome. What a little darling. I just can't believe someone hasn't scooped him up yet....

This is Chelsea....

What a little beauty! She just turned 3 yrs old and REALLY needs a family. She is in Eastern Europe and will soon be transferred to a very remote region where she will not be able to be adopted from. She is very high functioning, HEALTHY, and sweet! If you were looking for a little angel to add to your family....look no further. Please pray Chelsea(not her real name, her real name is VERY beautiful....) will get rescued before it's too late for her.

For scientific purposes only...

I ate another bag of this....while watching a movie....JUST TO SEE if it irratated my mouth.... you know, so I could pass along the results to all of you.....for YOUR benefit.

Yes, I did it for you people....

No mouth irritation this time.....

final analysis..

It probably wasn't the popcorn, but one more test may be needed for conclusive results.
